Striad Lounge Chair and Ottoman

Inspired by the construction of high-performance ski boots, Stuttgart-based designers Markus Jehs and Jürgen Laub designed the Striad Lounge Chair and Ottoman in layers to deliver a premium experience of comfort. The outermost layer, a rigid shell, is merged with an inner shell constructed of a natural fiber composite material, which is then fully upholstered. Individually upholstered dual-density foam cushions form the third layer, resulting in an optimal combination of firm support and supple, pliable comfort.

Offered in low-, mid-, or high-back versions, each with a choice of a four-star auto-return base or fixed four-leg wire base—as well as several finish and upholstery options—Striad can be outfitted appropriately for a multitude of spaces.

The more people connect, the better they work

Based on the belief that the more people connect, the better they work, Public transforms every part of the office—including individual desks—into places for collaboration.

Public is the first office system to support casual work and to provide comfort at the desk, in circulation spaces, and in group areas—all within a consistent design vocabulary. Visually uniform and modular surfaces, storage, and seating can be configured into a broad range of settings that encourage fluid transitions between collaborative and focused work.

Collaborative flow

We believe collaboration isn’t exclusive to conference rooms or desks; it happens everywhere. Public was designed to support fluid interactions and spontaneous conversations across the entire landscape, keeping the office in a state of flow, where people are engaged, focused, and able to move freely between collaborative and individual work activities.

Vibrant and varied

With a modular kit of parts, Public enables people to work how and where they want. Casual group areas become destinations for brainstorming, teamwork, presentations, and meetings. Individual workspaces facilitate sharing and interaction, or productivity and privacy.

Public elements can be arranged into configurations that express culture and foster belonging—and that can evolve as needs change. Layers of color and material create visual consistency and enhance the flow of movement from individual to group activities, and from private to shared spaces.

Casual performance

The Social Chair is the core component of the Public system. It brings a new level of ergonomics and functionality to soft seating by accommodating a range of people and postures as they work. The chair encourages the purposeful interactions that drive work—at the desk, in group areas, and throughout the entire office.

Both literally and figuratively, the Social Chair is designed for connection. Its open, inviting shape encourages people to sit and interact, while its top surface seamlessly links to desks, storage units, and other Social Chairs.

Responsible design

Public’s highly versatile elements can be reconfigured as an organization grows and evolves, eliminating the need to acquire a new system and dispose of the old. Public’s carefully considered responsible design uses the least possible materials. The Social Chair’s seat, made from expanded polypropylene, is lightweight, highly recyclable, and comprised of a minimal amount of foam.

The choice is yours

Choice is central to Sabha. Configure it in hundreds of ways, depending on your workplace culture, headcount, and the flow and layout of your space. Using the central undercarriage as the foundation for seating and surfaces, Sabha addresses a multitude of different interactive settings with the same vocabulary. You can even decide the direction of the backrests, and where the moveable armrests go.

Versatile building blocks

Start with soft seating and built-in surface elements which connect into Sabha’s twin-beam, four-leg base. To build a larger cluster for a lobby or public area, add recess legs in the center for more support. In team areas, combine Sabha’s high backrests with sharable, standing surfaces, or use the backrest to create a sense of enclosure. Expand Sabha’s versatility with its accompanying elements—ottomans, coffee tables, stools, and on- and off-module armrests.

Lights, power, action

Easily and instantly power up your devices with Sabha’s built-in power sockets. Store your devices right here, too, thanks to Sabha’s built-in storage solutions. And with Sabha, lighting perfectly sets the scene for creative interaction. Its sensor-touch enabled table and floor lamps create shared beacons where people can come together, as well as provide a sense of intimacy.

Foster interaction, naturally

Incorporate Sabha’s benches and two-seaters into a setting for informal quiet time or one-on-one meetings. Sabha’s soft seating and surface options beautifully furnish places that facilitate intimate discussions and private meetings. Swoop Lounge Furniture

A versatile and fluid design

During his time as an instructor at the California College of Art, industrial designer Brian Kane observed how students interacted with furniture in public spaces on campus. He noticed that very few of them sat in what might be considered a traditional way. They perched on arms. They curled up. They sprawled out. This observation inspired a versatile and fluid design response, which became the Swoop family of lounge furniture.

Casual, comfortable, modular

The sweeping curves of Swoop’s modular seating components were designed to make the furniture comfortable for many different sitting positions. Coordinating box tables can be used in-line with modular seating, and work tables fit perfectly over armrests. Coffee tables function as stools with the addition of a cushion top. All components work together in countless ways to create flexible, reconfigurable spaces where people can get together casually and comfortably.
