Sturdy twin beams connect at 90 or 120 degrees; legs attach to the beams; beams support work surfaces, screens, and the performance wall. Surfaces and screens can be attached at any point along the performance wall or beam.

Both literally and figuratively, the Social Chair is designed for connection. Its open, inviting shape encourages people to sit and interact, while its top surface seamlessly links to desks, storage units, and other Social Chairs.

Responsible design

Public’s highly versatile elements can be reconfigured as an organization grows and evolves, eliminating the need to acquire a new system and dispose of the old. Public’s carefully considered responsible design uses the least possible materials. The Social Chair’s seat, made from expanded polypropylene, is lightweight, highly recyclable, and comprised of a minimal amount of foam.

Locale helps organizations utilize and manage open office plans with a system that enables people to seamlessly transition between working together and alone, and in seated or standing postures. By removing visual and physical obstacles and condensing the architectural scale of an open office plan into a tightly knit neighborhood, Locale helps people stay better connected to their work and each other.

Linear, low, and architectonic, the horizontal Workbase provides a unifying core to each Locale neighborhood. Power and mechanics are housed within the Workbase, creating an elegant visual aesthetic. A pattern of vertical detail enhances this aesthetic and creates visual continuity between modular elements.

Gather round

Locale’s curved, height-adjustable surfaces signal openness, invite interaction, and generously accommodate multiple collaborators, work styles, postures, and tools. Minimal table legs foster unobstructed transitions between individual and group work, allowing people to gather and disperse with ease. Mobile elements, including tables, screens, and easels, provide flexibility for workers to create at the desk and display within the team.
